Fund-raising Events
Our events programme has been the mainstay of our successful fund-raising campaign since our inception.
From classical music events at Chatsworth House, Nostell Priory and Harewood House, to a Royal musical premiere in our honour on London’s West End, there has been no shortage of entertainment.
Add to this collection our annual and very popular golf days, our growing horse racing meetings, the eagerly-awaited annual spring gala dinner, and the Yorkshire Heartbeat Run and we estimate that more than 100,000 people have attended one of our events – as a spectator or as a participant!
We’ve also been privileged to attract some of the biggest names in sport and showbusiness to support our cause, including Sir Cliff Richard, Rory Bremner, Sir Jimmy Saville, Brian Close, Eddie Gray, Gary McAllister as well as two other friends who regrettably are no longer with us – Jill Dando and Freddie Trueman.
